Work experience to date:

The Great Escape Festival Volunteer, Brighton                                                       May 2015

Our Big Gig Intern, Superact, Bristol                                                 June – September 2014

Production assistant, BOX TV London, 4music                                          November 2012

During my one week placement I took the role of production assistant and on my second day went out on a shoot with the group JLS and helped with setting up camera equipment and cable bashing during filming. During the remainder of the week I researched locations for future shoots, looked for and retrieved props in Soho, helped with admin jobs and help fill in paper work on technical information for program schedules.

Broadcast Journalist, BBC Radio Bristol                                                                August 2012

I worked with the news team for the duration of this 3 week placement and helped generate and chase stories, secure live guests for the following day’s shows and organise and conduct pre-recorded interviews. I cut and clipped audio using Quick Edit and wrote copy for different shows during the day as well as for the overnight headlines. Whilst there I also went out and did vox pops using a flash mike and cut the audio, which was then broadcast in various shows

Presenter, Radio St Austell Bay                                                                    July – October 2012

At my local community radio station I co-presented with fellow volunteers over the summer on a weekly basis, doing a regular three hour slot where we discussed local and national news stories. I often helped script the news headlines for the hourly update and read the news.

Broadcast assistant, Radio Plymouth                                                                             May 2011
During my week’s experience I shadowed the DJs and the radio news team and conducted a phone interview which I edited and produced a clip from for the evening news bulletin. I also scripted bulletins which the news team appraised afterwards.  Being a commercial station I spent time with the advertising colleagues to see how they raise money to fund the station and joined them during business meetings in Plymouth.
